TO VICTORY TOGETHER!
Charity Exhibition and Auction · Lviv
To Victory Together! was a charitable art project brought to life by a large team united by a common purpose. Its principal organiser was the Pidhirtsi Castle Foundation, and Oksana Kozynkevych served as project commissioner. With the support of Lviv City Council, 83 artists took part in the exhibition.
The project honoured the memory of volunteers and fellow comrades who were killed near Popasna on 17 May 2015. For me, taking part was above all an opportunity to join a shared initiative in which art moved beyond its usual exhibition setting and took on another meaning: as an act of remembrance, support, and solidarity.
The exhibition and auction format was central to the project. Works by different artists, each with a distinct artistic language and perspective, were brought together for a common purpose. That is what matters to me in projects like this: art retains its individual character while becoming part of a collective act.
To Victory Together! showed the strength of a professional artistic community willing to come together for a cause extending far beyond its members’ own creative practices. For a time, 83 individual artistic voices became one shared gesture of remembrance and support.
