In Presence 1.03, the very shape of the work becomes part of the artistic statement. The conventional rectangular plane is disrupted by numerous projections, breaks, and voids, causing the object to appear as a fragment of an unknown structure that has only partially emerged into visible space.

The yellow-ochre field is filled with traces of pink, violet, and blue. The movement of pastel creates a shifting texture reminiscent of flows, layers, or traces left by the passage of energy. This fluid surface contrasts with the clearly defined, almost architectonic silhouette of the outer contour.

The black planes that emerge along the boundaries of the form play a particularly significant role. They may be perceived as ruptures, entrances, or zones of the unknown, where the familiar structure of space ceases to operate. The white background surrounding the work also becomes active: rather than simply framing the image, it penetrates its contour.

This creates an ambiguity between plane, object, and space. We cannot say with certainty what we are looking at — a fragment, a sign, a structure, or the trace of an event.

Presence 1.03 explores presence as the emergence of a form that does not belong to any system of images familiar to us. Its origin remains unknown, yet its very appearance transforms the space and makes us sense the existence of something beyond what is immediately visible.
