Summer Rhythms explores the energy of the natural world through the interplay of colour, gesture, and recurring rhythmic structures. Unlike the stronger contrasts of Autumn Rhythms, Winter Rhythms, and Spring Rhythms, individual forms here seem to dissolve into an intense green field, creating a sense of continuous growth and movement.
Multiple shades of green and yellow-green form the luminous foundation of the composition. Blue, ochre, and reddish fragments emerge through this field, creating a sense of inner depth. Recurring arcs, circles, and linear structures appear across different layers of the image, like waves or impulses moving through the pictorial space.
For me, this work does not depict a specific summer landscape, but rather the sensation of summer as a state of heightened vitality — growth, abundance, light, and constant movement. Form is never fixed: it emerges from rhythm, becomes visible for a moment, and then dissolves back into the surrounding field.
Together with Autumn Rhythms, Winter Rhythms, and Spring Rhythms, the work forms a cycle in which the changing seasons are expressed not through traditional representations of nature, but through shifts in colour, rhythm, energy, and the character of space. This language of rhythm and transformation also creates a natural connection between my painting practice and my exploration of form and material in MARBELI.
