Insomnia VII conveys a state in which sleeplessness becomes a space of inner wandering. In contrast to the emotional intensity of other works in the series, a cool blue-turquoise palette dominates here, creating a sense of nocturnal silence, distance, and immersion in one’s own consciousness.

The painted surface is composed of horizontal layers, interruptions, and shifts. They resemble fragments of thought that cannot be assembled into a single sequence. Some disappear beneath subsequent layers, while others unexpectedly emerge, leaving only a trace of their previous presence.

Within this cool chromatic environment, warm ochre-yellow accents appear. They function like brief flashes of memory — moments of inner clarity that momentarily interrupt the monotonous flow of nocturnal thought.

Particular significance is given to the thin line passing through the central part of the composition. It may be perceived as a trajectory of movement — an attempt by consciousness to find its way through the unstable space of its own thoughts. Yet its direction remains open, leading to no predetermined destination.

Insomnia VII is not a depiction of night, but rather its inner equivalent — a space in which time loses its familiar sequence and thoughts exist as layers, echoes, and traces.

Silence here does not mean the absence of movement. On the contrary, beneath the apparent stillness, the almost imperceptible activity of consciousness continues.
