Evening Reflections (2012) continues the early cycle of works that shaped the conceptual framework of The Day After Tomorrow series. Here, a real evening landscape gradually transforms into a space of imagination: above the dark horizon, against a cloudy sky and the last light of the fading sun, three floating spheres appear.
Their nature remains undefined. They may resemble soap bubbles — fragile images of human dreams, hopes, and illusions, capable of rising high into the sky or disappearing almost instantly. At the same time, the spheres may be perceived as something immaterial — objects belonging to another time, space, or dimension.
Their appearance disrupts the familiar logic of the landscape. The real and the imagined begin to coexist within a single space, while the sky transforms from an observed natural phenomenon into a field of possible images and meanings. The longer the viewer gazes into it, the less distinct the boundary becomes between what is actually seen and what emerges within the imagination.
Evening Reflections offers no definitive interpretation of its symbols. The spheres remain open-ended images — dreams, premonitions, illusions, or signs of another reality — appearing for a brief moment above the familiar horizon.
