In Cosmology 1X, space is formed by countless short, recurring strokes that cover almost the entire surface of the work. Their density, direction, and colour gradually shift, creating a wave-like field — an environment that seems to exist in a state of constant movement.
The texture evokes thousands of traces of touch left upon the surface. The individual gesture almost loses its identity, becoming part of a larger rhythm. Layers of turquoise, blue, violet, and yellow flow into one another, creating a sense of energy propagating through space.
In the upper part of the composition, a black form appears within a thin rectangular outline. It differs radically from the surrounding environment: devoid of internal texture, enclosed, and almost absolute. Its silhouette belongs to no familiar system of natural forms and is therefore perceived as an unknown graphic presence — a sign, an object, or the manifestation of another structure.
The thin rectangular outline surrounding it introduces another level of uncertainty. It may suggest a frame of observation, a provisional boundary, or an attempt to register something whose nature cannot ultimately be defined.
Thus, two principles coexist within the work: a continuous pulsating field and an alien form emerging within it. Cosmology 1X leaves open the central question of the Presence series: are we seeing the unknown force itself — or merely the trace it leaves within the visible world?
