One of the earliest entries in the long-term project Diaries / Signs of Time. An abstract structure emerges at the intersection of painting and physical material, resembling a fragment of a mechanism, an architectural form, a diagram, or an unknown sign.
The image remains open to interpretation: the specific event disappears, yet its tension, rhythm, and trace continue to exist within the work. Individual lines seem to extend beyond the boundaries of the composition, making the square appear as a fragment of a much larger reality — part of a structure whose continuation remains invisible.
Metal takes on particular significance. In everyday life, it is often covered with paint to protect it from corrosion and prolong its existence. In this work, that familiar gesture acquires a different meaning: metal becomes the tangible matter of time, introduced directly into the painting.
Its presence takes the work beyond the purely painterly plane. It is no longer merely an image or a sign, but a fragment of reality preserved within the painting — a kind of material record of a moment.
